When Hobbies Turn to Nightmares

Okay, this post isn't really about our hobbies becoming nightmares (well, not literally), but this new layout video I created...well, I think if you watch it, you'll understand!

There's a large 'back-story' on this video that I'll go into in another post.

But seriously, when the Planet Earth is threatened, who do we call?

  1. This is, without a doubt, the best thing I've watched today. Extra bonus points for using the Captain Scarlet intro sounds!

Was this all rolling stock that you already had around or was this a special order?

  2. Hello jerry , *

    Fantastic !!!!

there is no phone call for EDO, if i need them for DENIVHAUPT :-)))

  3. LOL...thank you friends! :-)

Yes, this was stock that I've had for some time...I'll post some details on this in my next post!

  4. Excellent video. The stop-motion animation of the cars just before the monster attacks was particularly effective in creating a sense or realism.

  6. Mere tanks and trains stand no chance against GENESTEALERS! mwuhahahahahah.

  7. LOL!

@ Don and Sudasana: Thanks Don! I love that folks have picked up on the Captain Scarlet music and the Genestealers! Awesome! Although I don't know if the Genestealers ever had to face a bunch of angry Leopards! :-) (EDO is still waiting on its order of "Laser tanks, etc..." :-) )

@ KenS: To be honest, this is the first time I've ever tried anything like this, it was actually a lot of fun and easier than I thought (although far from perfect!)! I knew just static shots of the 'monsters' and such wouldn't tell the story as well...so glad it seems to have worked!

  8. Wow! This is even more inspiration from an already very inspirational blog! I wait in eager anticipation to see the explanation! Plus im a big fan of Warhammer 40k, so kudos on that too!

  9. I really had a lot of fun when watching this! ^_^

    Great idea!

  10. This is the best video I've seen in a long time. Great job!

You know, it's rumoured that Orson Welles once said, "A motion picture studio is the biggest train set a boy ever had". Maybe he was misquoted and actually said, "A train set is the biggest motion picture studio a boy ever had". One never knows :-)

  11. Dallas, Kumo, JD: Thank you so much for your comments!

  12. Got some gene stealer cults in your town! Call in the inquisition!

  13. @baronjutter! Yes! LOL.

@JD - I meant to add, that quote is awesome, thanks for sharing it! I had never heard that before (cool blog too!).

  14. Congratulations, this is great!!!!
Could I publish it on my (spanish) modellers forum?

  15. @ Fray -

You sure can! Thanks for the nice comment!
