When Hobbies Turn to Nightmares

Okay, this post isn't really about our hobbies becoming nightmares (well, not literally), but this new layout video I created...well, I think if you watch it, you'll understand!

There's a large 'back-story' on this video that I'll go into in another post.

But seriously, when the Planet Earth is threatened, who do we call?

  1. This is, without a doubt, the best thing I've watched today. Extra bonus points for using the Captain Scarlet intro sounds!

Was this all rolling stock that you already had around or was this a special order?

  4. Excellent video. The stop-motion animation of the cars just before the monster attacks was particularly effective in creating a sense or realism.

  6. Mere tanks and trains stand no chance against GENESTEALERS! mwuhahahahahah.

  7. LOL!

@ Don and Sudasana: Thanks Don! I love that folks have picked up on the Captain Scarlet music and the Genestealers! Awesome! Although I don't know if the Genestealers ever had to face a bunch of angry Leopards! :-) (EDO is still waiting on its order of "Laser tanks, etc..." :-) )

@ KenS: To be honest, this is the first time I've ever tried anything like this, it was actually a lot of fun and easier than I thought (although far from perfect!)! I knew just static shots of the 'monsters' and such wouldn't tell the story as well...so glad it seems to have worked!

  10. This is the best video I've seen in a long time. Great job!

You know, it's rumoured that Orson Welles once said, "A motion picture studio is the biggest train set a boy ever had". Maybe he was misquoted and actually said, "A train set is the biggest motion picture studio a boy ever had". One never knows :-)
